What a harvest

So the grapes are in and all is going sort of well. It has been a long and hard harvest, but my busy especially took a lot of hits. I've fallen 4 times now in the winery, one of which i was taken to the ER for. I was filling barrel and sitting on top of them when the stacked structure collapsed. Me and 20 barrels, some full, went tumbling down. Luckily I didn't break anything and I was just off my feet for 3 days. My finger got sprained twice in 2 separate falls and the other one I severely bruised my elbow, still can't lean on it. I'm starting to think I am accident prone or this farm has it's knife in for me.

Besides all the falling and what not, I've had a fantastic harvest here. The people in the winery, my co-workers, are great and so too the people in the offices. Yes, of course there are the odd few that make your skin crawl and say hurtful things when they aren't thinking, but I forget about them, they aren't the people I spend my time with, on purpose. I've had a wonderful teacher here, he has given me a lot of confidence and motivation. I would have liked to have stayed on but it's just not in the cards, but i know i did a great job here and not only did i gain knowledge, confidence and some other skills, I also gained friends.

Now, I'm on a little break, just 7 days, but it's gonna be great. Me and miss USA (Melissa) are heading off to The KKNK in the Klein Karoo and I am stoked! Just waiting for the guys to finish the pump overs and then I can leave.

Cheers vir eers.
