yes, i know it has been forever, but live got crazy in USA and hasn't stopped since. Am currently in France, Northern Rhone, domaine francois villard, to be precise. it's beautiful here. Sitting in Mickey d's at the mo and can you believe NY is happening all over again, i'm stuck with no money to my name. it's making live quite difficult seeing as i need a new pair of ants to work in, on of mine just tore. Well, what can i do, nothing. i've been waiting on my first ayment for work now for 18 days, you can say i'm fucking fed-u with this slow banking service. don't know what the problem is. anyway, finished harvest yesterday, can you believe just 4 short weeks and the grapes are all in. the year was much the same as in SA this year, lots of raiin in summer. also a lot of rot, but they got more botrytis as we got more sour rot. but because of the rain the harvest was strethed out, usualli it's shorter.
last night we went to yves cuilleron for their end of harvest party and man did that get messy, people dancing the YMCA on the tables and me cutting the rug with some oldtimer, ahhhh, goodtimes. had a good time and a very good laugh.
so far it's been good, but with the lanuage barrier, it's been hard, nothing like the USA. just two more weeks and then it's off to either Spain or Italy, waiting on the friends(Javier and Enrico) to say what we're doing. I miss just talking to peole and understanding a conversation, it's gonna be wonderful going back to SA and then it's summer to boot, wonderful!!!!
Check back soon hopefully, but for times like these the old pen and paper is easier to get to than the internet, can you believe that is this day and age. ha, you gotta love france. will give more indepth detail in the next post.
